About kmuzta
A modern editorial magazine for stories that carry Filipino life forward.
kmuzta.com is building a more thoughtful visual record of Filipino life across the Philippines and the diaspora. We care about ambition, tenderness, memory, style, migration and the kind of cultural detail that usually gets flattened by trend cycles and headlines.
Mission
To give Filipino stories the emotional scale and editorial care they deserve.
We want kmuzta to feel like a contemporary culture journal with a strong sense of intimacy: image-led, globally minded and rooted in a Filipino point of view that never slips into caricature.
The vision is to publish work that feels collectible and lasting. Stories about founders, artists, restaurants, neighborhoods and identity should live with the same elegance as the lives they are trying to document.
We are especially interested in the connective tissue between places: Manila and Berlin, Cebu and London, Los Angeles and Singapore, heritage and reinvention, discipline and creativity, movement and home.
Founding Editor
Lex Aliviado
Lex Aliviado is half Filipino and half German and has been self-employed since 2011, building independent projects with a strong eye for editorial identity, storytelling and cultural nuance.
He practices the Filipino Martial Art "Eskrima" for more than 15 years.
His editorial perspective is grounded in curiosity about how Filipino culture evolves across borders: how people build businesses, make art, carry memory and create modern lives that still feel deeply connected to where they come from.
Editorial Lens
Longform profiles, visual essays, founder stories, food culture and diaspora life told with restraint, warmth and a premium editorial feel.
What We Avoid
Cliches, flattening stereotypes and generic blog energy. We want cultural pride without performance and ambition without losing emotional texture.
What We're Building
A publication that can grow into an archive, a tastemaker and a trusted home for Filipino stories with global reach and lasting aesthetic value.
